1.Hanging your curtains close to the ceiling.
Hanging your curtains closer to the ceiling utilizes a visual trick to elongate the lines of your walls so the room feels bigger and your windows seem larger. Bonus points if the curtains are a natural material and fit the color scheme of your house.

2. Upcyling
Hunt for quality furniture on Facebook marketplace that you can add paint or stain and make new. This way you can get quality pieces for possibly less than you would pay to buy quality, expensive new furniture.

3. Using natural textures and materials when possible.
Using natural accents like all cotton throw blankets, or down throw pillows will add a feeling of quality to your environment, even if its just in the accents. Some other examples of natural materials are linen sheets, a sheep skin rug, handmade pottery and fresh flowers.

4. Using art that fits your space.
All to often people get sucked into buying cheap art that is much too small for their space, we see it a lot with sign décor. When we buy art that it too small for our space, it just ends up looking cluttered. Less is more as well, try to get one or two larger pieces for the space instead of many small ones. For ideas on where to get affordable art check out my post.

5. Embrace a consistent color scheme.
Everything in your home does not have to be matching, but picking a few colors to carry through out a room or house goes a long way in making your home look intentional. The last thing you want when making your home feel expensive is a mish mash of colors and schemes making your home feel cluttered and small.
